Athletes have the choice of training in a team, small group or individualized sessions.
Coaches first measure speed, strength and agility, tracking the athlete’s progress through regular testing. A video analysis system allows athletes to see their progress and helps coaches analyze the individual’s athletic improvements. Each athlete’s goal may be different but all will achieve tangible results.
Parents of younger athletes will be happy to know their children are learning a healthy lifestyle, gaining strength and endurance, and building self-esteem and social skills.
How Does Team & Private Training Work?
Coaches first measure speed, strength and agility, tracking the athlete's progress through regular testing. We design specific training programs and exercises to develop each individual and the team as a whole.
Both our individual and team training focus on five key components:
- Speed
- Power
- Agility
- Strength
- Endurance
A video analysis system allows athletes to see their progress and helps coaches analyze individual athletic improvements. Each athlete's goal may be different, but every individual will achieve tangible results.

Team Training
Team training is available for a range of sports. Our program can replace or supplement your regular practice schedule. We work with coaches to develop a strategy that fits your organization's goals and meets your team at their current skill level.
Session packages are available in 8, 16 and 24 one-hour increments.
Private Training
Private training is available for athletes of all ages and can supplement other programs and services. Individual training provides the opportunity to focus on specific strengths and areas for growth.
Virtual Training
After a visit to Upward Star Center for an initial assessment, we can provide virtual programming through a training app designed specifically for individuals and teams. Our customized delivery allows each athlete to have their own program. The app allows athletes to track progress both on- and off-season. The virtual, individualized training enables coaches to accommodate injured athletes with tailored workouts as well.
Coaches can use virtual training to see who is progressing and team members that may need a little extra support in achieving their goals.
Pro Day/NFL Combine Training
Preparing for the NFL? SMI’s Pro Day/Combine Training program can take your college training to the next level.
The goal of this program is to:
- Identify strengths and weaknesses for overall health and to design a program to meet your goals.
- Educate athletes on their specific needs for health and combine performance.
- Enhance joint and muscular range of motion for maximum gains.
- Improve the understanding and application of linear and lateral movement mechanics to improve time and distance measures.
- Maximize strength and power gains.
This training regimen will equip an athlete with the knowledge and confidence to compete at the highest level when it's time to perform.

Chauncy's Story
