A Message from Program Director, Dr. Brandon Davis

A Message from Program Director, Dr. Brandon Davis

Thank you for visiting the Spartanburg Regional Transitional Year Program website! As Program Director, I sincerely appreciate your interest in our program.

The TY residency at Spartanburg has a multi-decade, rich history of training talented young physicians in what is a critical year of clinical development for the newly minted physician. Our residents spend a clinical year in Spartanburg, rotating through multiple disciplines including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine, and then move on to a subspecialty residency in areas such as Dermatology, Radiology, Radiation Oncology,  PM&R, and others. We consider our strengths to be our small size (6 residents per year), family atmosphere, and the teaching platform provided by our strong community hospital. In addition, graduate medical education at SRHS includes Family Medicine and General Surgery Residency Programs, with whom our residents cooperatively work and collaborate.

Spartanburg itself is a family-friendly, growing small town with a thriving downtown and multiple universities. Our city and hospital are both enjoying growth and momentum, but life in Sparkle City for most is “relaxed and slow-paced.”

We are proud of the experience we offer our residents and the success of our graduates. I look forward to carrying on the tradition of excellence in Spartanburg and encourage you to look at what we have to offer.
